What a Week!

Brandon and I made the move from Columbia, MO, to Edwardsville, IL. It went smoothly, largely because of the help of Dustin and Melanie. Thanks friends! We absolutely love the new place. It's the bottom floor of a house on Main Street (a wonderful road that has a used bookstore, Bistro, 2 of the best restaurants in the St. Louis area and is the location for the Farmer's Market). The ceilings are 12 footers, the floors are hardwood, the neighborhood is quiet, and we feel much more at home than we did at the place in Columbia. Perhaps simply because it is actually a home. I'll post pictures once we get back to Edwardsville and finish unpacking.

Right now we are in New York, relaxing with family before our big trip to Japan. I'm still having trouble believing that I'll be having my first big international experience in six days! Than has an itinerary planned that includes eating, nature, and reading down-time (just my style!). I'm already pondering what books to bring. Right now I"m on a food-based non-fiction kick. I've got The Omnivore's Dilemma, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, and I have my eye on Food, Inc. But before I finalize the list, I'm off to enjoy my red wine and Art Bar.
